Hello to all of you Mac junkies waiting for the latest releases of gear from the well known Macworld this morning.
Here I will list all items released at todays Macworld 2008.
First of all we have the Apple iPhone Software update. This includes a Google Maps add on that tells you where in the world you, and your iPhone are located, Webclips: These are bookmarks from Safari that show up on your homepage as if they were their own application, Multiple-Contact SMS and Chapter options and Language Capability also in iPod mode.
Secondly we have the iTunes Movie Rentals. There are 1000 movies that are feature after 30 days of releasing the DVD. They can be watched on Macs, PC's, iPhone and iPods. There is a 30 second delay with modern broadband so you can watch it straight away. Once the movies are bought, you have 30 days to watch them. Then you have 24 hours to watch them once started. The movies cost $2.99 each and $3.99 for new releases. They are available in the U.S. now but International will be launched later.
Next we have iPod Touch Software Update. This includes 5 new applications available for existing iPod touch users for $20. The apps include Mails, Stocks, Notes, Weather and Maps.
Fourth we have Time Capsule. This is a Wireless Airport Extreme Base Station as well as a wireless backup station for all of your Macs running Leopard, Tiger and Windows.. This can also be connected to a printer to share across your wireless network.
Finally we have MacBook Air. The thinnest laptop in history.
Screen: 13.3" Widescreen. LED Backlit with Magnetic Latch. First fully mercury and lead free display.
Keyboard: Full size Keyboard. Ambient Light Sensor. Multi-touch trackpad (Double-tap, Move, Rotate by pivoting index and thumb. Pinch and Zoom.
Power: 45 Watt MagSafe power Adapter. 5 hour battery life.
Ports: Headphone, Micro-DVI, USB. These flip down from the bottom and align with the Bottom.
Storage: 1.8" hard drive ( 80GB standard/64GB Solid State Drive - Optional)
CD Drive: None, however software will be released so that you can 'borrow' another computers drive.
Case: Fully aluminum case.
Packaging: 56% less than MacBook.
