A little bit of Snow for HTC's Touch & Verizon

Engadget Mobile has had an anonymous tip overnight here in Australia with outstandingly clear, almost press-quality images of HTC's new Snow White coloured Touch, specifically for Verizon Wireless in the USA, confirming its existence.

The new white model will become the Verizon XV6900 Touch, a CDMA version of HTC's popular consumer-orientated PDA.

Known specs are:

  • Special snow white colour
  • Windows Mobile 6 Professional
  • HTC Home customisation
  • GPS
  • EV-DO data via the CDMA network
  • 2 megapixel camera
If Telstra was still doing its CDMA thing after the end of January this year, then we might have seen this with a carrier here - we sure would have liked to see the snow white colour in Australia, but this looks like another U.S. special.

The iPod nano, now available (again) in pink

After just unveiling LG's Valentine's plans, Apple's pulled out its rather handy iPod resprayer and gone wild with the third-generation nano, which is now available in pink.

This could be a February 14 special... it could be here to stay. We're willing to bet on the latter.

Specs are the same as any other 8GB nano, but here they are anyway:

  • 8 gigabyte only
  • 2,000 songs, or
  • 7,000 photos, or
  • 8 hours of video (or a combination)
  • New, enhanced OS with Cover Flow
If you buy online, which is where all the stock is right now, you'll pay A$279 (US$199) with included laser engraving, if you want it.

LG's Shine painted red for Valentine's... in the US

LG's Shine mobile phone is popular worldwide, but especially in the US, where it does particularly well on the AT&T network.

It's coming up to Valentine's Day, and that means that quite a few gadgets all over the world need to be painted red, or pink, to achieve that tiny extra slice of present-based sales... and, almost inevitably, the Shine is one of them.

AT&T has just released a red model, which sometime still features a just-as-effective mirror finish when the display is off.

We doubt we'll see this model here by Valentine's, or ever, but here's the specs just the same: slim profile, slider, 2 megapixel camera, microSD storage, Bluetooth 1.2 with stereo BT, 2.2" LCD with mirror-like finish, MMS, USB connectivity.

Asus M530W smartphone gets fiery

Not too often that business-focussed smartphones deviate away from the industry-standard black and grey colour schemes, but Asus has announced it will start producing its M530W Communicator smartphone in a white/orange colour combination as well as its standard grey model.

Specs include:

Full QWERTY keyboard
3G
390MHz ARM 11 CPU
Windows Mobile 6 Standard (non-touchscreen)
2.4" QVGA display
2 megapixel camera
mini-USB / Bluetooth
Push e-mail support
microSD card slot (up to 2GB)

Hopefully we'll get our hands on one of these colourful beauties soon.
